'SCAPE #3/2025 | CAHIER
Softcover with dustbin, 52 pages, full colour
-----------------
In this new ’scape cahier, we showcase projects that bring us closer to nature. Art is an important partner in this. In the forests of Canada, the design agency Daily tous les jour created two interactive installations that respond to the communication of trees and birds. And in Thailand, the topography of a field in the Kaoyai Art Forest has been modified so that the mist generated immerses visitors in an enchanting spectacle. High-tech design meets nature!
Perhaps even more poignant is the film Arctic Alchemy, which features images of rivers that have been coloured red by toxic metals as the permafrost thaws. Our relationship with nature may receive its greatest boost from the podcast with James Bridle on natural intelligence. Bridle captivated the audience at the Biennial in Barcelona with his engaging story. During the Biennial, we also saw the presentation of the Corredor Integral del Piedemonte de Cali, an impressive elevated footpath that opens up the city to its hilly surroundings. And literally brings us closer to nature.
A completely different story is that of Indian architect Riyaz Tayyibji, whom we asked about his intriguing vision of ‘collective form’. He takes us on a journey to fantastic buildings in his country.
